Posted January 29, 200619 yr Alright. I'm going to be spending around 1600 Canadian dollars on a laptop and was wondering which processor to go for. I've rounded it down to the A: AMD Turion 64 B: Intel Centrino Duo chipset. Would anyone help me with the pros and cons of both? Thanks!
January 29, 200619 yr I've heard, in general, AMD is better for gaming, where Pentium is better for office stuff... depends on what you wanna use it for.

January 29, 200619 yr yeah Amd overall is faster if you want it for multitasking and gaming whereas the intel might have an advantage with the mobo your putting it on with the duo chipsetor for office and music (not that there isn't a duo chipset amd mobo) intel centrino though, i wouldn't recommend for its wireless capabilites because a couple of my friends had it and had trouble with it connecting since it doesn't seem to have a strong enough signal. wouldn't know about turions strength though.
January 29, 200619 yr Author uninstall.exe: Go with a mac Well I do like the OS and all but they are a little pricey for me and I am more into gaming. So a Turion 2.0GHZ would outrank the core duo @ 2.0? I am going to be into gaming but also alot of wireless access. Thanks for your help.
