The only reason I went to that piece of shit is because school's where I lived before sucked my ass. That and chicks in Catholic Schoolgirl Uniforms are hot. BTW, I'm not Catholic, Catholics are fucking morons.

Look at the fucking specs on my computer, case mods or not, it fucking owns you.

looks cool but doesnt make pc go any faster k. i wouldnt buy it. plus im the only one that sees my fucking case.

:no:you just owned thread:no:

uhh..what "owns" about a P4 2.4 oc'd to 2.95 (voiding the all important warranty on Intel products that you paid twice what a comperable or better AMD would have cost for), a ti 4200 graphics card, and 4.1 sound setup?

I'll admit, pushing 400 watts is nice...but can be done easily and relatively cheaply on a 5.1, 7.1, or THX surround sound setup with the right purchases, for half the cost...and better performance.

Nice monitor setup, admitted... BUT:

WinTV sucks...only 512MB 400MHz DDRRAM... you could've saved some money on a shit sound system that pushes nice wattage (and probably never gets used when surround sound is important...in FPS games...which you probably wear headphones for), and spent it on another couple sticks of RAM, which actually does something for performance...and a better graffy card, too, for that matter.

Basically...aside from case esthetics, good storage space, and nice dual monitor setup, you blew about twice what you needed to for half the actual performance you wanted on a factory built "modded" setup that functions better as a jukebox than it does as a computer...and doesn't function that well as a jukebox (I've got a 450 watt shelf system that runs 4.1...cost less than $250...it's stuck in the bedroom as the "mood music" box...you could have at least sprung for a 5.1 card and a high wattage surround theater to string inputs to...it would have performed better...and 7.1 or THX supporting card and surround thater system would have actually been something to be impressed over).

Sorry to be such an ass about it, but the "ownage" system you're bragging on isn't "ownage" at all...it's just a pretty, underperforming, overpriced, unsatisfactory overclocked mid-range box.

Hell, man...all "do it yourself" mods aside, the box I'm running outperforms that as anything other than a jukebox, hands down...and I'm already looking forward to my next upgrade (to 64 bit architecture and SATA drives)

AMD "barton" XP 3200+ (overclocked to a 13.5 multiplier, fromt he stock 11)

400MHz

GeForce 5700FX 256MB (various overclocking sets, depending on what's running (thanks RivaTuner)

1.5 gigs PC400 DDRRAM (3X5 512 sticks DDR3200)

120 gig Maxtor 10000 rpm ATA133 drive (average search time <8ms) primary

120 gig WD 7200 PRM ATA133 drive (average search time < 9ms) secondary

60 gig Maxtor external HD (USB2.0)

SB Audigy 2 sound card (supports 5.1 or 7.1, depending on setup...would support THX as well if I'd sprung for the Platinum)

DSP500 headphones

Crap floppy

Sony 48X24X48 CD-R-RW

Phillips DVD-ROM (fuck if I recall speeds, and I painted over the face, so I can't read it...lol)

MB supports total of 8 USB, on board gigabit ethernet support (big whoop...I only get a couple megs to actually use), ATA 100/133 IDE support, dual SATA device support, RAID 0 and 1 support (needs PCI RAID card, as usual)

21" Sony flat screen CRT monitor on full brightness and contrast settings as "projector" for 36" internal projection monitor (thank you E-bay focusing lenses and build instructions)...and haven't broken down to tinkering with dual monitor support yet (since the only free monitor in the house is an old 15")

it's a "frankenstein box", but it overperforms (if there is such a thing) for what it is...and definately overperforms for the amount of money in it...which is pretty much the point, since anything you build needs upgraded within a year to even be "current", much less "high performance".
