Posted January 30, 200619 yr Whenever I download with a torrent my internet likes to cut out for my entire network, forcing me to restart my router. For any of the ***s who wasted their time at university or college studying networks, tell me why this is happening and how I can avoid it. The entire network is on wireless and the router is some Belkin model. k.
January 30, 200619 yr the torrent is still dling though right? this happened to me when i installed the vista intrapack 5213 and my interent cut out but my torrent was still dling. turns out the problem fixed itself because one day i HAD TO RESTART my modem because the little green light or whaever that says its connected turned to red and i had to reset the modem (not turn off and on but touch the little button with like a pen tip to reset it). from then on my internet never loses connection anymore and i can dl torretns and go on the interent at the same time. i have dsl not cable thouhg so i dont know if that would work for you.
February 13, 200619 yr Buy a switch because unlike a router you get full input/output on each port and try to get a layer 4 switch if you have the cash but a layer 3 or 2 will work just fine, and by layers i mean the OSI model, but it sounds like whatever you are downloading is overloading your router because routers find the best path for each packet and it can make it go slower.
February 13, 200619 yr ahahahahaaa! he wants some help, and thinks flaming us by calling us ***s will get him more help! I'm doing networking, it's good money and way more fun than programming or hardware.
