Valve is currently running an open beta of the new Friends system. To participate and help Valve squash the remaining bugs, add the following parameters to your steam.exe target: -clientbeta steam3friends -beta steam3friends Keep in mind this is a beta so if you do happen to notice some unexpected behaviors be sure to log your findings with the Valve Developer Community.
