Posted February 5, 200619 yr Once apon a time, nice friendly america decided to implement there forward defence stratergies against the domino theory in SE asia. The state at focus, vietnam. Shibby was a peacefull, and loving boy, regualry spending his afternoons playing card games with his grand mother in there family home. But one day, devistation wrecked that loving home, as poor old shibs was drafted into the vietnam war. At first he didn't know what to say, he didn't know what to do or think, but sure enough and soon enough, shock began to set in. Shibbs was going to war, a foriegn contry, and a near certain death. Poor, young, and loving Shibbs, soon had to adapt his simple contry ways, it was now either shoot, or be shot. Something he hated, but still had to do. Months passed with Private Shibby slimly cheating death nearly every day. He knew he was lucky, he had seen a lot of his newly found friends meet less fortunate fates then him, and he also knew, his lucky streek, could not, and would not, last forever. However he did not know that day would come so soon, and so horrifically. The third day before Shibbs tour was over, a mortar ambush reaked havok on shibbs devision as they crossed a rice field 10 miles north from hanoi. Shibbs was tragedically injured, shratnel tore through his face and body, like rain to grass. Shibbs was in a bad way. Luckily an accompining division was far enough from the attack to still be usefull in battle, and eventually mopped up the communist vietnamese, in a bloddy 4 hour long fire fight. 34 years latter, and shibbs is left without lips, a disfigured face, and is sadly a mute. This is to you [myg0t]Shibby, god bless your sacrifice, god bless your willing ness to fight for democracy, god bless, you, mr jonothan 'shibby' smith. Who's efforts will never be forgotten, and who's disfortune is so sadly mourned.
