February 21, 200619 yr How far are you able to get before it restarts? My computer had that problem when my ram slot was screwed up. Every time I got a bit into booting up windows, it crashed. Try changing the slot your ram's in.
February 21, 200619 yr yeah computer randomly restarts...no viruses of ANY kind, no cpu overheating ,no background problems, no power or wire failure, no connection errors...any on have any ideas... How can you say that your computer "randomly restarts" and insist you have practically no errors of any kind. Thats kind of like going, "I have a few malignant tumors, doesn't mean I have cancer."
February 21, 200619 yr Author thats just it...it randomly does it...sometimes ill have it on for 2 weeks before it does it other times it restarts during bootup...sometimes itll restart 5 times in a row before i even get to user logon screen
February 21, 200619 yr yeah this also happened to me like jsut a few days ago. i fixed it simply by going into safe mode and doing a system restore after my comp sadi that there were no viruses on it.
February 21, 200619 yr Author lol well id try that but its always done this which makes me think something is wrong with windows install... dont know why it would be but could that be it? a problem with windows???
February 21, 200619 yr you have to be compeletely certain that there is no virus on your comp. Use spybot, norton or mcafee viruscan to check this out. If you are positive then maybe it was your windows install. COuld it have even been a virus on your windows install cd if you d/led and somebody injected the exe or binded it with a virus?
February 21, 200619 yr Author thanks for the prog but it says nothing is there...and i bought the disk for windows package n all... so now im 99.9% on corrupt install i just remember my lil bro tried to put my laptops windows CD in before i got the new one...could that be it? i formatted HD before i put in the new disk though...

February 22, 200619 yr Check the 'Event Viewer' in 'Administrative Tools' in 'Control Panel', for any errors recorded by the system.
February 22, 200619 yr do you ever send the error report instead of ignoring it and not sending? thats how i figured out that my zonealarm firewall was making my system restart.
