Posted February 24, 200619 yr I was playing on a knife and pistols only server yesterday, and I was just going round shock paddling people and reviving teammates, don't have a clue what I did different than usual, but then, I started getting all these healing points out of nowhere, I wondered why because I didnt put any bags down, then I realised that my defibs were healing me and other people! I was pretty much invulnerable to pistols, because my health regenerated too fast for the speed that they took health off of you, the only way they could kill would be with a knife or shock paddles. Has anyone else experienced this bug yet?
February 24, 200619 yr I get that, I think its part of the server, as an incentive for everyone to not just use the pistols
February 24, 200619 yr Author I don't think so, mods for bf2 have their own servers you can't just join a modded bf2 server, and besides, I came back on later, and they stopped healing me
February 24, 200619 yr It's not a bug. It's because everytime they patch the game, they make it more and more full of bull. This is now how it works. You can heal people/yourself with the paddles because the med-kits, and the shock paddles are now the same thing. The difference is, you can't throw the defibrulators and you can't revive with the kits. Heres something to notice. Has anyone picked up on the fact that you now have ammo for the defibs? You can only do it 3 times. It's because the patch fixed an exploit I found a few weeks before the bug came out that I only shared with maybe two people. You can no longer just revive and revive. Fixing the said (but unexplained) exploit. This is (in a nutshell) how it works. *you get 3 revives ORRRRRRRRRRRR 4 medkits, which slowly reload. You can mix and match. Taken from an article at secretsofbattlefeild.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> Medic defibrillator paddles have been adjusted. They now reload while not in use. - Paddles DO reload while not in use, however their charge characteristics have been changed as follows. - Medic Packs and Defibrilators now share a "charge" - You carry 3 medic packs and have 4 shocks (if you shock one after the other) - If you shock once and switch to the medic pack, you will have 2 medic packs left. They will still slowly regenerate, but what this means is. - You can't spam Medic Packs and then expect your defibrilators to be charged. - After 4 shocks with your paddles there will be about a 2 second wait before the paddles begin to charge back up. _________________________________________________________ I know alot of you 1337 players out there knew this, but just clearing it up for people who don't med often. *Notice how this makes farming a bit more annoying? No worries though, it gives you you're heal badges. Battlecake on Xfire = icanflylol
February 25, 200619 yr Author How come when I tried it again, it didn't heal people :thinker: I'll just check once more OK, I tried once again, and my shock paddles DIDN'T heal me/other people. I am pretty sure what happened to me was a bug, because being able to go around the place with your health regenerating fast enough so that bullets are harmless unless multiple people shoot at you, and also being able to shock enemies, would be a bit unbalanced. So are you sure that the patch has changed it so Defibs act like medibags, or are you bullshitting?
February 25, 200619 yr :ugh: Did you actually read what I posted? It doesn't seem like it. Anywho, I reconsidered it and it may be just a really bad glitch that happens EXTREMELY often for me. It started after the patch which is really obvious due to all the crap that they one, screwed up and two, changed for the medic. Either way, all the other stuff I posted is right. I look into this.
February 25, 200619 yr Whenever I try to recreate this bug, I just hear the defib making a healing sound, but not actually healing.

That sometimes happens, but usually when you're inside a truck or tank and healing someone outside. Unusual for it to happen just walking around normally Oh, and it IS healing, just the health bar looks "full" when, infact the person is injured still.
