i uses Azureus, but it lags me while i'm gaming.

what are some other good ones? and doesn't have a "share ratio"

or maybe i just need a hack for Azureus to make me a good share ratio? now i have 0.232... im a leecher :gaykeke:

use bitcomet, its the best one out there alongside azuerues and never lags for me whne i play games. what is your cpu anyway.?

tampon, the way to go for minimal system resources is utorrent. it totally owns every other bittorrent client on that field, BY FAR. btw as for the share ratio.. dunno if you have that with utorrent.. I use Azureus but I got a great share ratio (OK > 1.1) so :sly:

If you want to DL and game @ same time use utorrent.. dunno if you are talking about 'online' gaming though, because if that's the case you shouldnt be running bittorrent due to the bandwith hogging

it doesnt have anythign to do with your cpu, its your bandwidth, your just downloading too much pr0n and it lags up your connection

not really.. i have a x2 3800+ @ 2.3ghz, when i look at taskmanager,,, the azuerues was using 100% usage even though i am only downloading one torrent.

i tried Utorrent, pretty small and works good, i get faster download and not much cpu usage

and i'm not downloading porn, im downloading pc games :gaykeke:

strange that azureus was using 100% cpu. I've head a friend of mine say he has the same problem. His pc is a bit older than yours though.. but still that doesn't justify the fact you have 100% cpu usage, and me with my poor 2,4ghz have not even 5% usage when downloading and seeding multiple large torrents.

It might be a problem with your configuration.. and screwing around with azureus' settings might fix it.

If your getting constant 100% CPU usage while JUST using azureus then it sounds like a problem on your end. As far as lagging while downloading and playing; you have to remember that it is also using your upload as well as your download. My DSL is shitty and my upload caps at 30kb/s... so If I'm getting anywhere near half of that being used by a torrent, gaming is impossible and even browsing the web becomes tedious and slow. I would just reccomend setting your downloads up overnight, or setting azureus to cap your upload at the lowest option ( I think thats 7.5kbs)

I use µTorrent because its resource friendly, has all the features I need, and it is fully compatible with private trackers.

I used to use Azureus but in the interest of minimalizing my resource load I switched to µTorrent besides that it is just generally a better client.

I have heard that Bitcomet is good except for one major flaw that keeps me from ever trying it. Incompatibility with private trackers. Bitcomet is banned from most private trackers due to the way it allows peer sharing and open access to torrents. I don't really know that much about the problem but I believe it involves DHT.

get Smashers leecher edition of Azuerues, you don't need to upload so it wont lag you when gaming
get Smashers leecher edition of Azuerues, you don't need to upload so it wont lag you when gaming

and where would that be obtained?

Don't bother, the trackers will soon be banning anyone using that version of Azureus. Some trackers have already started doing it.

not if you change the client id, bittorrent always has, and unless the protocol changes drastically (which is unlikely) always will be super easy to fake a ratio on, because the tracker trusts whatever announce string is given to it

well I usually only have Azureus on when im either away or sleeping so I dun mind it also uploading stuff..
Use azureus... many of the other programs are banned from some of the trackers

Just change upload max to 0 then they won't upload anyway

To the guy who wants no lag, get dual core

utorrent or bitcomet, utorrent offers very light resources, bitcomet offers unfair advantages, also noteworthy from these two, only one client is forced to share and that is utorrent

with azureus you don't have to share either, just set your max. upload speed to 0.

This does however affect your share ratio.

I use BitComet on Windows, Azureus/Bittornado on Linux.

Clients written in compiled languages (c++/java) don't seem to rape your system as much as ones written in scripting languages (python, etc.), especially on large torrents. (4gb+)

Also, just change the process priority to "low" (or `nice` = 19 on linux) so it doesn't kill you if you're gaming or doing other stuff.

azureus is garbage. utorrent all the way. some private trackers i am on banned bitcomet so i switched to utorrent
