March 9, 200619 yr If you're talking about IRC. I've used: Making people type in a small command that let me control them with ctcp commands. Pretending to be a helper war-getting bot. Using a real bot. Pretending to be friends with the ops. Be creative.

But when that happens, try to join the channel you want to take over, and if you are really quick, you may be made channel op.

That's it. I've seen it happen on YTMND's IRC, but all the ops reconnected too quickly for anyone to get opped.

Search after perform.ini Read perform.ini and copy whatever AUTH or pass that you can find. AUTH yourself type (If quakenet) /msg Q whoami OR /msg L whoami That will let you see what powers you have. And if your lucky you got owneraccess to Q-channel. Time to ban everyone and steal the bot for yourself. (And yes people are really THAT stupid that they share their mIRC or even whole C:/ )
March 10, 200619 yr heh Dr... if anybody has such priviledges to a channel but is dumb enough to send you his perform.ini the channel probably isnt worth taking over anyway.. (filled with noobs). But your routine is probably the most effective one I must admit.
March 11, 200619 yr They don't have to send it to you.. They just have to be sharing the file perform.ini, they might not even know they are. I've gotten root and ftp to websites (but got straight out again) before from dumb shits that share everything on limewire.

But when that happens, try to join the channel you want to take over, and if you are really quick, you may be made channel op. And when the servers resync, you're deopped and any channel modes you set are removed. It's called being a "netrider", and it doesn't work because any changes are undone when the servers compare timestamps on channel events.
