More for less is right! Look at that EVGA 7900GT, wow, 500/1500 clocks, nice.

It is also only $320.00; that's really not bad at all.

The 7800gt i bought was 314.00 dollars, and it's set to 470/1100 and will clock to about 525/1200, but the memclock won't go any higher w/o artifacting. That 7900gt's memory is clocked at 1500, truly monstrous.

Kudos to Nvidia, and to ATI as now we have a real choice in video cards for the current generation.

yeah was reading this on extremetech's website and i saw that they also switched their microproc manufacturing to a 90 nm core instead of 110. This gives lower power consumption, less cooling needed and an overall lower price. The clock speed was also raised too to 650 mhz to match that of ATi's x1900xtx even though the 7800GTx still could beat it with a lower clock speed and less pixel shaders in the benchmarks.

too bad i didn't buy one of these before i bought my 7800.

I'm sure the people who buy 7900GTXs will say the same thing when the 8000GTX or whatever the fuck new nVidia GPU comes out...

Buying shit like that is stupid. Its outdated in a couple of months. I'm still rolling on a pen 2, windows 98 with spinners.

If you bought yours from eVGA, I think they are allowing people to trade in 7800s for 7900s.

No, its for the 7900's. Its called the "90-day step-up". That basically means if a new card comes out within 90 days (DirectX 10 cards most likly) all you have to do is pay the shipping (5$?? lol) and you just have to give them back your old card. :facesj:

your pretty fucking stupid if you buy a 550 $ card only to have it outdated in half a year

With the 90-day step-up you can send it back and get the new card for free, just pay like 4-5$ shipping. Did you not read the post?
