Apparently US military want to use this idea to create super soldiers. If this is true i will join the army so i can be a super solider:naughtyd: . March 21, 200619 yr Fake. Simply not practical to have muscles that you have to manually refuel unless you still have your ordinary arms as backup. Now, having cybernetic (or supermuscle) augments around the outside of your arm would be practical.

They are talking about bringing the human body beyond natural performance, if they were augmented around and not into the body then they could cause many problems, for starters, your body cant take certain levels of stress on flesh/bones/muscle, therefore augmentations around the limb could easily cause injury.

Valve replacement is just mending as is marrow transplants. You can't compare that to something that is going to make you able to do something supernatural.

Exactly. I've done something like this at the college lab by manipulating the IGF gene. We made mice that could lift up to a almost a hundred times their own weight and run for hours with out getting tired. Unfortunately, their hearts also became really enlarged since it's a muscle and caused heart failure. We could use this to treat muscular dystrophy. Right now, we're trying to shoot for longer life.
