Does anyone have an idea how to resolve a name to an IP and then get the IP as string?

 

At the moment I would need that function for a VB app to check if the client is resolving the address correctly. Any help, comments or ideas how to solve the problem are welcome. I am sure some more experienced programmer will laugh about this.
