Just earlier my moniter went black, flashing black to a lighter tone. Then it went back to the game I was playing.... It's happened a few times now....

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Specs:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0ghz

1024 mb;Corsair RAM (2X512)

ATi Radeon x800 xl 256mb (AGP 8x)

saometimes this hapens to me when it has to auto-adjust. is there an auto-adjust button on your monitor?

No, it's not auto adjust... I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I bought a new NETGEAR wireless internet pci card. It is in the way of the fan on the graphics card. So maybe overheating?

The first and second time it was happened I was playing America's Army....

And it has continuously happened even when i'm just surfing the web.

my monitor did this for a while; then one day stopped "lighting up" and I had to get a new one.

So you think it's the moniter?.... because this moniter is the HP f1503

and I bought it about 3-4 years ago.

But as I was reading online on other forums... some people mentioned getting a new card.

Perhaps the power supply? any ideas?

do you have any old monitors that you can try out on your comp. then you can determine whether its the monitor, card, etc.

it's either that or i decided oblivion...etc. is putting a lot of stress on my card and overheating it....because the screen also has random colors come up...
my friend downloaded new drivers and played CSS, everything was flashing and it was all fucked up like you described, he unistalled them and reinstalled the ones he had and it worked so hm maybe that could be it?
