And I used to go to school there. =D Trivium are good, Matt Heafy (Lead Guitar and Vocals) is and was voted the best Guitar player in the USA (Of the younger generation anyways). And Rammstein, I strictly like them for the music and music only, the singing is shite. Nu-Metalists? Doubt it, I listen to tons of shit, they were the only songs I told him to get because he likes crap like Avenged Sevenfold. Who voted him best guitar player in the USA? His band? His friends and family? Definitly not the guitar community.

There are more guitarists then metal guitarists you know? It takes an idiot you learned scales over and over again to compile a metal solo. But your telling me, the BEST guitarist in the USA is a metal guitarist? WOW, I forgot they had elections lol. Maybe you should relieze that METAL is all about speed and speed does not mean your amazingly good. Robert Johnson, wasn't fast, but the man pretty much played killer blues and inspired people like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Hendrix and so many other people to become who they were. The BEST musician in my mind is someone who can inspire so many people with what they do. Jimi Hendrix was one of the biggest ones I can think of, His impact on guitarist is HUGE! I mean, he wasn't the BEST guitarist playing wise, but I think he was one of them, but thats not THE POINT.

April 7, 200619 yr For me, their awesome solos are only fun to watch, the sound of them isn't anything special. I prefer trivium's solos to theirs simply because trivium's are more rhythmic and not made soley to show skill, but to actually go with the song. Also, dragonforce is a lot more repetitive then it seems. Heafy is NOT the best, no where fucking near. Vai is the best, hes awesome and rhythmic. He inspires most of the guitar playing community along with Satriani and Hendrix.

April 8, 200619 yr trivium is balls hardcore and suck. dragonforce is like iron maiden, chugging powerchords and good solos / singing not really what i listen to but once in a while if i feel like it i'll put them on. they sound good but they aren't as great as people seem to think they are

April 11, 200619 yr Those bands are shit man, You need a good taste of rock. They are mainly metal-core, well, the old albums are. The latest stuff has become heavy metal, but they have done a few songs consisting of Death Metal such as Fugue. I'll list the best songs that I recommend you download. A Gunshot to the head of Trepidation - One of the best songs they ever made, on the latest album "Ascendancy", This should really get you into them. Washing away Me the Tides - One of my favourites. Ember to Inferno - Quite hard to understand what he is saying, but the guitaring is good and the chorus is insane. Pull harder on the strings of your Martyr - One of my favorites, and one of the best they have done. Like light to the Flies - Insane Guitar Riff in between the verse running up to the chorus. The Deceived - Now this song, Inexpressible, It's too good for words. Requiem - Classic Dragonforce are powermetal. Way to suck off the stereotype, everyone glorifies like light to the flies but it isnt one of their best. Im suprised you didnt mention Pillars of Serpents, it owns requiem and the decieved. Also, Blinding Tears Will Break the Skies is one of their best.
