Basically its a pos. are you kidding me? the 1900xtx is not at the top because several people including http://www.extremetech.com have already tested the 7900gtx compared to the 1900xtx and it does not beat it in any benchmarks, especially 3dmark, except in the movie benchmarks with ATi's avivo technology. The 7800GTX could even beat the xtx when it came out even thouhg the clock speed was a good 150 mhz behind it because it has more pixel pipes (24 to 16) and also matches it in pixel shaders. The memory clock on the 7900gtx is also faster by 50 mhz(1600mhz to 1550mhz) with GDDR3 ram. Now that Nvidia has switched to a 90 nm architecture rather than the 110 nm they were able to put less but faster transistors on it and speed up the core clock to 650 mhz, easily beating the x1900xtx in gaming but not in the video benchmarks. the card also became smaller due to this architecture thus less money to shell out for one with 512 mb rather than a 7800. The nvidia SLi solution with two 7900gtx's also beats the crossfire solution of ATi's x1900xtx's again in the benchmarks, showing that SLi is again superior. IF you even wanted to have a crossfire solution with ATi but wanted to watch movies also with the avivo technology, you couldn't and would have to disable the crossfire because the avivo technology cannot run in crossfire mode. Lastly, the heat and power that the 7900 gtx is far less than that of ATi's x1900xtx because of the switch in architecture. So sorry but ATi loses and Nvidia FTW!!! :lmfao:

That link you posted is in favour of the ATi 1900.... Guys take a look at the fps benchmarks of HL2: Lost Coast. The ONLY resolution that either the 7900GTX or the GT beats the 1900XTX at is at 1280x1024, and this is by 1fps, yes count it, 1fps, by the GTX. Also, at the ultra high res that not many people play at, 1600x1200, with AA+AF, the GTX beats the XTX by a whole 3fps. The X1800 Even gets in on the action, and owns both the GT and the GTX at fps at 1024x768, the resolution most of us play at, and then is only 3fps off both the other Nvidia cards @ 1600x1200, with AA+AF off. In conclusion, Nvidia have done little to impress myself, and the people at ATi with their 7900 Series, and if you want to run CSS on 1024x768, you can get a X1800XT now for £180 INC VAT, which is amazingly cheaper than the 7900's. In conclusion, ATi give great value for money, and Even at the top spec card level of the GTX and the XTX, which will set you back around £500, the difference is so minimal, that it is hardly proof that one card is 'better' than the other, which then leads us to look at price and value where we see ATI excell. And just think to yourself, the game that Nvidia beat ATi on is Doom3, wow, that has such a big online following, wow yeah. Compared to HL2, which actually does have a following, probably the biggest in the world, well for CSS anyway. If you are looking to upgrade, and you have a suitable PSU, then get an ATi card. July 31, 200618 yr I run a shitty little 9600XT 256MB and it beats the x800 my mate uses, because he has the standard CCC 6.6 driver that ATi released this month, but I use a custom Extreme ATi driver made specifically for my card. Make sure you get the right drivers, whatever you use. Look around at sites like guru3D and Omega, you'll find enhanced drivers that will give you a major boost of power.
