They're not stupid, this is the only way they can keep China on check as Iran is China's major oil supplyer, plus Iran's strategic location is invaluable to the US. China's economy is no joke. We are outsourcing our IT jobs to the asian countries because we have no choice. For every engineer the US graduates, China graduates four. Why do you think Chinese has now become the only foreign language that's considered AP in high school? Why do the rich pay 200K+ salary to nannies who speak Chinese? 9/11 was a psychological cloy on the government's part to win the minds of the average (uneducated) Americans so the US can carry out a series of planned strikes on nations because of their strategic and monentary value. Rebuild Iraq? Billions of dollars? Isn't this unprompt generosity so atypical of the number one nation, the United States who doesn't even provide its citizens medical insurance and spent 200 dollars in Katrina relief. From my perspective, is what Bush doing ethical? No. But will his decisions benefit the US in the long run, Yes. Oil is running out, United States still has it's untapped oil reserve.
