Nah, the Uzi, MAC-10, and FN/FAL peacekeeper are more inaccurate (but they are also SMGs)...and the HK-974-S assault rilfe makes an AK look like a sniper rifle (which is part of why no military chooses to use it...expensive, and useless)

Im pretty sure its because they can fire almost no matter what, and can fire a few differnt types of ammo. It also "Throws" the bullet is a special way that is supposed to fuck up human flesh. I dont know any of these facts first hand, just what I have read.
February 6, 200421 yr it doesn't throw the round any special way...it's just the warsaw pact 7.62 round is underpowered for it's weight (it's a .308 bullet, fired from a shorter, and weaker cartridge), which reduces the speed and carrying distance...which gives it more chance of stopping within a human body (which is more damaging than going through), and means that it "tumbles" in flight sooner...so there's a bigger chance that it will hit with the bullet at an angle. Admittedly, it's a nastier round to get hit with...but would you rather accurately hit the targets 400 yards away, or be able to really fuck them up 50 yards away, but have NO chance at hitting them beyond 200 yards, unless you were an EXTREMELY skilled marksman, who had hand tuned his weapon for accuracy? Personally, I'd rather be able to reach out and touch someone before they get close enough to hit me accurately.
February 6, 200421 yr the AK-47 AKM is a cheap peice of shit. the only reason that it is any good, is because it has very few working parts, it fires a 7.62mm round which is too powerfull for its size and weight, when fired in semi-auto it isnt too bad, about as accurate as an M16, but how many sand niggers do you see firing in single shots? none. fire it in full auto and the only thing you will do is scare the shit out of people. compared to the M16, which fires a 5.56mm NATO round and has no full-auto firing mode (M16A2) but instead has 3 round burst mode, which fires 3 rounds very quickly so that the recoil doesnt throw off the aim. it is a gas operated weapon that needs a lot of looking after. if it jams, unjamming it can take a few minutes, where as an AK can be striped and cleared in seconds. L85 pwnz them all, the same as the SA-80 only with a longer heavier barrel and a mounted bi-pod. k thnx.

And the M-16 is more accurate than the AK (multiple reasons for this, but the lesser recoil, and better recoil buffer return spring system is a big part of it) Also, the 7.62X72 (7.62 warsaw) round is UNDERPOWERED, not overpowered, for the "calibre"...the .308 (7.62 NATO) round fires the same actual bullet, but has a higher total velocity, and therefore a flatter trajectory, and more accuracy, than the warsaw pact round. However, part of the inexpensiveness and reliability of the AK IS, as you said, the fact that it has fewer moving parts (one piece bolt asembly, as opposed to the M-16's 3 piece, single stage recoil buffer, as opposed to triple spring and double pocketed tube in the '16, so on and so forth) and the fact that the individual parts of the AK are interchangable and machine stamped, unlike the HK, colt, and most other military issue combat rifles, which, once broken in, cannot "trade" such simple parts as the bolt or recoil assembly. Also one BIG advantage of the AK is the larger and looser gas return tube...being so much larger than the '16's, it is far less likely to easily be "jammed" by debris or carbon...which means it's less likely to suffer "short shucking" due to buildup in the gas tubes, or from debris...

February 6, 200421 yr everyone needs to stare at my sig and die of a sieasure, btw ak47 can rip a car to shreads while the m16 wont even dent the engine block. m16 is more acurate but jams/gets dirty edialy unlike the ak like bud said, so its a trade of. but the ak bullet is everywhere and it is dirt cheap in midle eastern countries, but what you all forget is the short butt plate stock on the ak which is extremly short= little kids can shoot it, unlike the m16. personaly i wouldent want to bother cleaning the m16 every second just for a bit more accuracy.
