Funny how things always happen in pairs, anywho..

Music Industry Piracy Investigations (MIPI) this morning raided the offices of Kazaa owners, Sharman Networks, along with P2P company Brilliant Digital Entertainment, and the homes of key executives.

MIPI general manager Michael Speck told ZDNet Australia the order was specifically targeted at the operators of the Kazaa network. "This is not about individuals, this is about the big fish," said Speck. "This is a signal that Internet music piracy is finished in Australia." The ISPs and Universities were raided to gain evidence about the operators of the Kazaa network.

The investigation into the Kazaa network has been ongoing for six months, and was precipitated by a significant change in the physical and technical structure of Sharman Networks, according to Speck. "The Kazaa operation infringes copyright within the terms of the Australian Copyright Act," he said.

"Kazaa operators know the difference and make the decision as to whether they facilitate legitimate or illegitimate downloads," said Speck. "It's very clear they are facilitating and authorising global copyright infringement."

not exactly sure why it was raided, but eh.

Can they do anything to stop IRC file sharing?
they will never stop us
it just means there will be anopther p2p program set up. personally id rather them spend the money shutting down kiddy porn sites and aol chat rooms than worring if a few poncey pop idols lose a coupple of quid.
they will never stop us

never say never, they can easily earse us from the internet world with just a push of a button. The way they are thinking is that someoen has to fill this roll, and if is not us, then it could be some insane arabic terroist filling the roll and use the site to put secert messages for the next big terroist attack in the states.

So see, is a good thing that we are running the site, we might be a littel racist toward pretty much everything, but we are not hear to harm anyone physically, just fuck with them mentaly. kthx

zuzu u are a fucking idiot dude everything you say is talking bullshit out of ur asshole. No one can "push a button" and erase us from the internet. everything else in this posts either makes no sense or has no logical belief

there is no way they can completely end piracy. Celebraties are fucking greedy they already getting millions for there songs, but they want more. All these investigations ect. are a waste of time and these resources should be used to battle more important things.
I don't see why they care, the fucking millionaires are losing out on a couple bucks, so us poor people can get some tunes, big deal.
I would care, knowing that there are millions of people stealing my stuff while I work my ass off? It doesn't seem right to me. I wouldn't do anything though just be pissed off as I sat in my yacht.

The celebreties don't complain as much as the record label companies, etc. They are just used by their companies because they are more famous, it wouldn't make sense if some white pasty fat fuck in a suit tried to tell you that you wasting his hooker money.

If anyone here saw that episode of southpark, about music piracy, you should all know that downloading music is wrong. I mean, I wouldn't want to be the one who has to tell Lars Ulrich, that he can't have the golden plated fish tank right away, and has to wait a month until he can afford it. Or even the person who has to tell Britney Spears that she can't have the Jet that has the dvd player and the Plasma screen, and will have to stick with the Jet that has the normal screen and the dvd player without the remote control. What kind of people are for music piracy? CRIMINALS!!!111

Work your ass off? You worked your ass off to get thier, but what made you big, 90% of the time other people wrote, produced etc. They just used your voice.

People that say the artists are loseing big because of P2P aren't informed as to the CRAP the artist's makes on cd sales. The record label's are the ones loseing the most on P2P, but its thier own damn fault for putting out crap and raiseing the price.

heres an idea, if you deflated your cd prices and raise the standard of songs people would take your side againt P2P. Since your money hungry fucktards and NO ONE LIKES YOU, the public just gives you the finger and downloads for free.

Here here...I second that motion.

AGREED :naughtyd:

all quite true. They might just use your voice (not really since they edit it all with shit) but there are very few of those type of voices in the world. I wouldn't start buying cd's if they were 10 bucks a pop, its a waste of money anyways considering only two to three songs are good most times anyways.
All you need is a one hit wonder, for example I once bought the snoop dogg CD for 22$ cause it had bitch please on it. I'm a retard, don't know why I bought it, flame away.
