February 7, 200421 yr LOL Linux not that hard...as for running online files in it, get WINE or WINE-X, and you can run just about any windows programs in linux just fine...just gotta set it up so the right .dll files load with the .exe, which takes a bit of practice.
February 7, 200421 yr you might find suse more to your liking...but I'm a redhat fan, too...so, who knows?
February 8, 200421 yr im using red hat, gnome k, try using a debian based distro ie. debian, libranet, knoppix, xandros or even lindows. xandros is by far the easiest distro to use. graphical installer, the best file manager ever made(xfm), easy to update and install apps(xandros networks (free), apt-get). libranet is my faforite distro. the text based installer can be a pain in the ass if you dont know what your doing, but it comes with the greatest tool ever made for linux, adminmenu. you can do everything with adminmenu from installing browser plugins to recompiling the kernel with answering a couple questions and a couple clicks. go here http://www.distrowatch.com it has discriptions of most distros and links to sites, downloads and reviews.
February 8, 200421 yr i play aroudn with knoppix and knoppix std but cant save anything on them so there kinda worthles except for playing around
