Posted August 18, 200618 yr Okay, ANYONE, even me, could take a 13 digit number, and turn it into a semi-valid CD Key... It goes through,yes, but it says it's invalid, wtf? That mean it's already used? No, it means this: The CD Key hasn't been activated, or printed on a CD Case and sent off to the stores yet. For example: take this number 0000000000003 See that CD Key? That's a CD Key, it goes through, it has a chance one day to be printed on a CD Case and sent to the stores But what is the chance this will happen? Yes,very low. Theres probably a hundred thousand keys not registered so far and printed, but finding those wouldn't be easy. If you spend 1 hour guessing CD Keys, you're NOT going to see it's valid Oh, and if you guess the same CD Key twice, it'll say it's duplicate, but the first message that says invalid for the key means' it's not printed yet. It took me 6 hours to find a real CD key, but it was duplicate.

August 21, 200618 yr Theres probably a hundred thousand keys not registered so far and printed... That's pretty funny... The way the keys are right now are 25 Numbers or Letters (I don't know if there is any specific order / algorithm to these so lets just leave it at that). So the way modern keys look is like this XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. So, if we are counting keys that look like this: 11111-11111-11111-11111-11111, etc. There are (Roughly) 800 dodekillion (8 x 10^38) possibilities for keys. But if you throw in some random rules for how the key should look, and stuff like that, it'd lower the number of possibilities drastically. I don't really know where i'm going with this, just wanted to say no one ever said generating keys was easier / better than buying or just plain stealing keys. I just wrote a few scripts and programs to pass the time, never really expected them to get me any keys.

August 23, 200618 yr IOMG all u are idiots in best buy (well near here) you can just pick up HL2 with the CD key go to a corner and open it up like in the aplliances section and look at a refridorator/freezer. now what you do it whiel looking in the frezer you have the box inside it so that the camras dont see you then u open the box not making it look like u are opening it cuz security knows. Now you take the CD key and write it on your hand . now you take the boxe make it look closed as you walk back to where you first got it and then put in yunder and in the back of every thing. Vwala your very own FREE CD Key. HA!

With that said My process is this. Buy HL2 or if u already got it thats better. Register the key. Email valve saying the key is misprinted. They will ask for a scan image. Edit the image and alter the key to make it invalid. They will send u a new key. someone done this for me for BF2 im sure it can work here too

August 29, 200618 yr i have an older phone, i dont feel like dropping an extra $150 just so i can have a camera only go to stores like walmart and target - and dont make it obvious, if you're walking around tearing open boxes in the open then you're gonna fuck yourself. one way ive always had it work is to pretend like you're going to try on clothes and take the game with you into the dressing room. thats probably the easiest method. some of these stores also have an outdoor plant section. these spots rarely have security cameras and if they do its easy to hide from their line of site. you can usually just bullshit your way through the store and slowly open the box. just act like you're playing around with it while you carry it, go over to shelves and take things off racks to look at while opening and when you finally do get it open, make sure the shelves are deep enough where the cameras cant see, dump out the contents of the box, act like youve got a text message and copy down the key hope that helps - ive stolen plenty of cdkeys using these methods and never been caught
September 2, 200618 yr yea, just buy the game. FaceMask's alternative is good though. I suggest ripping out the key instead of just copying it down myself, because then someone else will have the key after they purchase it. Do yourself a favor and just buy it, cheap fucks.

September 17, 200618 yr I couldn't be arsed to read the posts so i'll just say an alternate way/method go into the wal-mart or local super store or w.e open the case to the game, peal OFF the cd key, take it home and enter it in or take a camera cell phone, take a picture etc etc.

Try to rip a cd code for like 20$ seems pretty cheap tbh Your fault if you lossing it the first time because of cheating. Get better (privat) cheats or play without. I would pay 20$ to not go into a store and rip of the game and over 100$ to not sitting 6 hours and trying to get a valid key.. I get less money out of it then go to work and earn it. Your not ripping of a bank you know... It's a goddamn game for 20$!
