Posted August 20, 200618 yr Every time I play a game (so far its done it on BF2, HL2, CS Source, CS 1.6, HL Source, Wolfenstein:ET, HL + HL2 Deathmatch etc you get the idea) my PC crashes after about 5 minutes of playing. I'm pretty sure it's down to my graphics card not being very good but is there anything I can do to solve this except buy a new graphics card? It's an ATI but I can't remember the exact model because its pretty old, but can still run most games. Thanks in advance
August 20, 200618 yr Thats not normal, its probably a hardware issue. Sorry to say but it sounds like you're going to have to get a new one.
August 20, 200618 yr check what temperatures everything is running at, could be a heat problem. also your power supply may not be juicy enough
August 20, 200618 yr make sure the fan on the car is still spinning, do you get any artifacting (crazy things flying around the screen) or does it just shut down?
August 20, 200618 yr Author make sure the fan on the car is still spinning, do you get any artifacting (crazy things flying around the screen) or does it just shut down? I'll just be playing and the screen will go black and the PC will restart, no warning or anything. Its quite annoying to say the least. I think instead of paying for a new gfx card I will just get a wireless router and use my PC in my room because its more suited for gaming whereas this is a family PC so its a bit shit
August 21, 200618 yr It's nothing as drastic as buying new hardware, it'll just be outdated Directx and graphics card drivers.
