Posted August 25, 200618 yr Battlefield 2142 beta test has been released. Currently it is only for people who were picked for the beta and now open to fileplanet paid subscribers as well. More then likely there will be a free public beta release in the weeks to come as the game ships in October. I personally have not played the game yet, but so far the Battlefield series has not disappointed me when it comes to game play and rage potenial, so I'm sure this game will be another winner. We have a couple members already testing it out so I'd expect we'll see our first BF2142 rage shots very soon. My only concern with the series is they seem to be releasing new versions a bit too quickly and this could end up backfiring on them and burning people out on the series as a whole. Currently they appear to be on an almost 1 year release schedule between games, compared to most other series which release every 2 or 3 years. This almost 1 year schedule does not include all the expansion packs inbetween releases either, none of which I purchased for BF2, as they seemed like a ripoff to me.

August 25, 200618 yr Author Don't be too late with the news ¬_¬ The fileplanet beta started only like 1 day ago. I saw no need to put news about the more limited selective beta that started a few weeks ago as almost nobody was in that beta test.

August 26, 200618 yr I agree with the fact that they are releasing new versions too soon. EA thinks that they've found a way to make a lot of money so they're doing like every company does and is going to milk the series for all its got until nobody buys the battlefield games anymore.
