Posted September 3, 200618 yr i know when you scan a large amount of ports on a website or webhost, it starts to set off alarms to the webhost and it will log it and such, and you could get in some trouble for that. im wondering if i was to use a program to scan for rcon passwords for a quake3 engine game, would it be sending enough info to the gamehost to even bother setting off any alarms? its scanning pretty fast, prolly 50-60 combos per second. will i be getting in any trouble for that? or would it not show up cause when you are on a game you are sending pretty large amounts of information to the gamehost.
September 4, 200618 yr Author THATS RIGHT BITCH. i dont care what anyone says, the fact remains that jedi academy fucking rocks my world, and the raging in that game is so damn easy to come by. people will get so pissed off at you for even killing them when their saber is down or they are chatting, they made it a rule: "no laming". all the good players are gone in that game, all thats left is a bunch of admins who like to have their power trip, and punish people that "lame" in their server. they wait for one person to step outa line. if i was to control their server completely, they would break down emotionaly.

At worst the bad rcon attempts will come up in the game servers log, the chances of trouble for you are roughly delta.
September 9, 200618 yr You can't get in trouble for port scanning. It isn't illegal. They can cry to your ISP all they like but they wont care.
September 21, 200618 yr WAR DRIVING what does war driving have to do with rcon brute forceing? if the server receives to many wrong rcon passwords im sure there will be some system in place to lock you out from trying again
September 22, 200618 yr r00t;383751']what does war driving have to do with rcon brute forceing? Presumably war driving was suggested as a means of preserving anonimity.
