In NZ, most people didn't like either of the leading parties so many decided not to vote for either back in '99. They voted for the Greens and for NZ First. Both these parties got enough votes to enter parliament. NZ's parliament system give you seats in the main political house based on your number of votes. Majority gets power, but everyone in the house gets a chance to have their say and debate any legislation before it gets passed into law- usually. I know it's different in the states, but if a decent chunk of people voted for a minor party that had good policies, they'd be noticed. And in the following election, they will probably have more support. That's how NZ First got into it, and the Greens, and One Nation. Yeah, and then the Democrats blamed the Green's for losing the 2000 election. It made me laugh at the fact that people who support Democracy would so quickly damn it if it didin't work in their favor.

I agree they should do as they want, It isnt the ppl that bother me, simply the way the government acts, as a British citizen I dont get any benifits be it food, housing or taxes.
