September 9, 200618 yr Even though I hear alot of people saying that it's too expensive I'm still getting one. If you own more than 12 games for any console OR PC you have already paid for a PS3. (average $50 a game) People are willing to pay thousands of $ for a "HD" tv but bitch about $500 or $600 for a console. I hear people say "build a PC instead", ok go ahead and build a pc for $600. Will it play Blu-ray? I wouldn't want to play any games on it a year or two from now. Would you want to play the games you do now on a PC from 2001? Look at PS2 then. It's still a decent gaming system to this day. I remember back in '94 looking in the back of EGM's and Gamepro's and the PS1 at the time was $500 to import and I ddin't hear anyone complaining then so why are we now? I understand that not everyone has $500 to spend in a heartbeat, SAVE MONEY THEN! In this day and age everyone has an IPod and plenty or other overpriced crap. I think that for the hardware that's in them the PS3 AND the Xbox 360 are UNDERPRICED. Microsoft loses money everytime someone buys a 360 and Sony will lose money everytime someone buys a PS3. No one is forcing you to buy it. If you can't afford it then save up and buy it when the price goes down. I believe Sony WILL lower the price next year after they get tired of everyone bitching abou the price and they can afford to lower it. That said, I'm getting at least one of them. Hopefully two. Well I geuss I'll have to ignore how Tekken 5, Black, Gran Turismo 3 & 4, Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 etc. look. Those are decent looking games for PS2. I'm not saying that PS2 has the best graphics, just look at GRAW compared to the XBox/360 version. If you think that shit makes YOUR eyes bleed then you have never played a Mega Man game without a X in the title.

September 9, 200618 yr Sony are making a big BIG mistake charging so much for a console It reminds me of when Nintendo released teh N64 because of their previous success's they ripped everyone off and nobody bought it quite simply and now look at them, probably on their last legs, selling kids stuff......... I would rather have an xbox 360 - ive always been a playstation person - but xbox is cheaper, probably more games, easy to play online etc the only problem is that its microsoft but if you cant beat em, join em Nintendo isn't on their last leg... Are you kidding me? The Wii, as much of an underdog as it is, is making leaps and bounds in advertizing and getting people's attention. To all the people who can't afford the PS3 and XBOX360 and want a much more interactive gaming experience (And those who know nintendo for their awesome games) will be picking up a Wii this christmas,

To all the people who can't afford the PS3 and XBOX360 and want a much more interactive gaming experience (And those who know nintendo for their awesome games) will be picking up a Wii this christmas, not to mention they have success with the same franchises every single time. I'm definitely going to wait to see what PS3 offers, and decide on what to do about a year after it releases... One thing's for certain though... WiI's on my want list (if only because of price.)
September 10, 200618 yr Well with the whole Blu-Ray supply issue it looks like I might not be one of the first ones to get a PS3 but that's ok. I want a PS3 mainly for Metal Gear Solid 4. But also for the backward compatiably, since the saves with be on either the hard drive or a memory stick I know someone will figure out how to transfer saves from PS1 and PS2 to PS3. Maybe with a Dex Drive or something. Then sharing saves and content will be simple like it is with PSP.
