Posted September 9, 200618 yr This is an exploit that has existed in Battlefield 2 since it was first released and was just recently made more public. Basically by making some changes to a config file for BF2, once an enemy player appears on your screen, their name tag becomes visable even if they go out of your site. This lasts till they die. It's not detected and works in version 1.4 still. Example screenshot. Instructions: Add following lines in your Battlefield 2 or 2142\Profiles\0001\profile.con. NameTags.MaxEnemyDistance 9999 NameTags.EnemyTagFadeInTime 0.00000001 NameTags.EnemyTagFadeOutTime 9999 NameTags.EnemyTagDelayTime 0.0000001 NameTags.EnemyDotLimit 0.0000001 Save and make the profile.con read-only, so these changes stick.

September 9, 200618 yr Wrong profile.com that is the one for LAN play I think. The one you are supposed to edit is (most likely) in C:\Documents and Settings\User Account\ My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001

September 10, 200618 yr It sounds like you guys might be reading the instructions a little to literally. If you put the commands in the 0001 con file it will only work for that account, or the first nick listed on your logon screen. For me, I had to put it in my 0016 file because I have quite a few accounts.

September 11, 200618 yr Works nicely. Just tried it on PoE2. The problem is you have to aim your crosshair over the enemy to get the tag to appear, then it stays, which is great for sniping, but once they are killed, the tag disappears again.
