Is this possible? I've had people tell me it is, and some tell me it isn't.

My last mobo doesnt work, and when I try to turn it on, the chipset gets to about 180 f in about 20 seconds, I'm thinking I am the victim of this.

Yes it is possible, thats why there are fans in your computer.

Fans won't stop from your mobo going to 180 F in 20 seconds r3st you idiot.

Fans can't help you, your mobo is fucked. Sorry

Yes. Me and my step-brother thoguht it would be fun to see how long it would take to melt a P1 333Mhz without a fan. Took a couple of minutes.
lol i have an old 1992 moniter (CRT) Still in great condition BUT i sometimes it does leave a black siloughette on my wall. lol!!!

A soltution is too turn your PC off when your finished. I've heard so much shit from people about their machine over heating. Just turn it off and let it rest :)
