Posted September 22, 200618 yr When I call an American company for customer service, I don't want to speak to someone in Bombay (or whatever it's called now) who has no idea what I am saying and who speaks like a fuckin cartoon character. They are not representatives of that company. If I wanted to talk to a fuckin slave I'd have called Atlanta.
September 22, 200618 yr I find that by talking slowly and clearly and avoiding colloquialisms coupled with listening carefully results in a most efficient service from the majority off call centres. In fact I have found the Indian ones to be a damn site more professional than locals.

Especially if its tech support or something, its completely useless... They rarely tell you anything you can't read from a manual or that isn't common sense. And then some companiese have the nerve to ask at the end of the call how you would rate the usefulness of your call, I usually say it was fucking worthless and hang up.

September 24, 200618 yr Indian customer service reps are the best. I can't remember how many times I called Gateway support and I talked to someone with some southern accent. YEEHAW !!!
September 24, 200618 yr doesnt work, most of the time they talk really fast, and you still dont understand. Most of them speak perfect english, you are simply not listning intently.

They are generally more polite and professional, but on the downside, if the problem isn't on their flow chart they go all to pieces and can't (or won't) help you. North American reps seem more willing to go outside the official answers to help you find a solution.
