October 4, 200618 yr Press 1 for English Press 2 for deportation While there is nothing wrong with supporting a national language to be obligatory and be a standard in America - standard for all tests and high schools - there is something particularly wrong with wanting to deport random people because of their culture.

Hahahaha. you're such a :bj: Don't come to a country to live where you can't speak the native language. This country shouldn't have to bend over backwards for the minorities who live here. If a sign is written only in English and you can't read it, tough shit, GTFO.

This country shouldn't have to bend over backwards for the minorities who live here. If a sign is written only in English and you can't read it, tough shit, GTFO. our views are fine it is only the way you present them that is bad. Supporting a law to make all standard things in America English, like drivers license tests, SATs, ACTs, Street signs, etc. is nothing bad but could be argued against. Saying deport for people who don't speak is bad. If that law talked above were passed it would effectively force everyone to learn English to the point to take the SATs/drivers test or they couldn't do anything. And please, stop using ad hominems. Does your animosity also carry over to people with accents? If so, how far? country accents? Foreign accents? Lisps? What else? Where can you draw a line without just being illogical? You are saying that if you don't speak the language gtfo. Better worded it would be "we should make a law that makes english required; it is up to them to learn it and if they don't they will soon fail and have to leave, anyway" Also, you might be looking at this is a narrow-minded point-of-view. Imagine this: A surpluss of Mexicans cross the border and there are no more bad jobs that intelligent people do not want anyway. Desperate, these Mexican immigrants work for little to none and clean your house/become your personal maid. That is just one possibility that I can pull out of how they could benifit people. Do I support a native language? maybe. Do i support not having one? Maybe. I will not disclose my position as I am not here to argue my stance but to allow you to argue yours. Besides that, it is a common fact that people from The Netherlands learn numerous languages, including English, usually. Even if you supported "deportation of all non-English speakers" that would rarely apply to Dutch people so it doesn't even belong here.

Atleast in canada the french took over canada when it was the new world. (kekekek spanish got fucked on their land)
October 4, 200618 yr the only reason we speak spanish in america is because of the damn beaners comming over and not learning english. Atleast in canada the french took over canada when it was the new world. (kekekek spanish got fucked on their land) No. We speak a foreign language so that Americans can be highly cultured and not stupid. The fact that some people choose to learn Spanish is their choice. I know a high school that serves French, Spanish, Russian, German, and Latin. That is the first fault in your contention - the fact that we arne't forced to learn Spanish. If you are talking about "press 1/2" then that is the businesses choice and even if a native language was forced by law it would not be illegal to do this and people would still do it just to get more customers and more money.Every person from Mexico I know speaks English, too. They usually take English as a second language/start taking remidial/cp/ap classes eventually. I am not here to argue for or against native language laws but some people need to stop making bad arguments and think out their ideas. On the other hand, the Spanish have been talking about the reinvasion of their lost land i.e. Texas ,New Mexico and California by not assimilating to American culture.
October 4, 200618 yr *presses 2* Your Sig is the stupidest shit ever, not only is it way to fucking long its not even funny fucking die
October 4, 200618 yr Your Sig is the stupidest shit ever, not only is it way to fucking long its not even funny fucking die Why should he die? Define stupid.
October 4, 200618 yr Why should he die? Define stupid. stop debating with everyone your queer and thats it
October 4, 200618 yr stop debating with everyone your queer and thats it That means nothing. I don't know if i could even blindly trust you. Your ignorance is too high. "your queer" "you're queer" Would you like to say something meaningful now? If you cannot even argue regular points how can you argue your debauchery?
October 4, 200618 yr The thread starter said "discuss," not argue. People are here to state thier opinions. Do not come here and try to sway those opinions. State your own, make non inflammatory comments (unless you want flames back) and move on. Why is that so difficult?
October 4, 200618 yr The thread starter said "discuss," not argue. People are here to state thier opinions. Do not come here and try to sway those opinions. State your own, make non inflammatory comments (unless you want flames back) and move on. Why is that so difficult? Thinkers have thought for a long time. They have thought about the nature of man and what is right or wrong. Your view(or the view that i think you believe as i am not sure) is wrong and you must deal with it or be ignorant. Also, what part of talking about something limits the use of arguments as they use language? Try explaining your stance a little more. I am not even aware of your true stance. Are illegal Mexicans who speak English fluenty allowed? Illegals that do? What if those two do but with an accent is that ok? Is it ok if a legal Mexican only speaks Spanish? What about an illegal? What about any other kind of person who speaks another language? Your view is too limited as it is now leaving people to extrapolate which leaves to Tu Quoque. Just state your opinion in a clearer way.
October 4, 200618 yr Your view is wrong The idea that you can decide who's views are "right" and who's are "wrong" exposes your own extreme ignorance. Thinkers have thought for a long time. They have thought about the nature of man and what is right or wrong. Your view is wrong and you must deal with it or be ignorant. That whole sentence is wasteful typing. Also, what part of talking about something limits the use of arguments as they use language? Because arguing over opinions is, for the most part, futile. All you can do is strive to understand other's points of view and for you to understand yours. I do not care if others don't understand my opinion, at least on these forums. You need to move on and not hang onto every word and gesture of these forums. Go somewhere where your philosophical banterings and opinion interrogations are apprecaited. I honestly don't know where that is.

Well, the fact that you do not even know what I think you think means you cannot judge this. I think, as of now, that you want all people who do not speak a language fluently to be deported immediantly - legal or illegal immigrant. Philosophy has already classified right and wrong and that was the point of the first sentence. I am not saying what is "right and wrong" per se rather i am saying what is immoral and not. that IS immoral but might still be right. I am not saying if it is right or wrong but it is immoral. Also, I would like for you to restate your opinion in a clearer fashion. The fact that someone can change and learn English easily makes a situation where you ask yourself "why should i deportsomeone if they dedicate their time to change?" With that, if laws were placed in to make people speak English your vision would be acceptable. Right now, I think you are working of racial/cultural tension which is wrong(immoral).
