Also, this has nothing to do with boosting their egos or tempering them but lowering yours. The fact that all myg0ts partook in this "degrading" makes the newbies form a sense of trust and more easily manipulated into joining/doing stupid things that make the myg0ts laugh at them. It simply makes people feel like they are joining something important akin to the beating when you join a gang. It is a common manipulation technique used with any kind of cult where, usually, the top guy uses your trust in a bad way.
