Whenever I try to connect to your guys' server, it says "Unable to resolve server...". What's up with that?

open the port 6667 in your router or firewall

or it was just a wrong servername

myg0t.irc.com

irc.lcirc.net

type in your irc

/server irc.lcirc.net

after it connects

then type /nick yourdesirednickhere

then /msg nickserv register passwordhere emailhere

Ahh...probably that my port is not open. Let me try it out.

Okay, I have a DI-604, and I added in port 6667 under Virtual Servers, and enabled it and everything, but I am still having problems. I even restarted my router, but nothing is happening. I tried using DMZ, but I'm not even sure that works...

Could it be something else that is causing the problem? Or maybe I am not doing something correctly with my port forwarding...

Bah...I'm getting frustrated now....I've been trying for a while all sorts of things and it still doesn't work...right now I'm even directly connected to the internet, and I still getthe unable to resolve server message.

Still getting that error....I even tried a different client called Bersirc, and it gave me a similar eror: error looking up hostname.

double post for more bumpage

Not Found

The requested URL /chat/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/1.3.37 Server at http://www.lcirc.net Port 80

for java

obviously if you're unable to resolve hostnames forwarding the server port to your computer is not gonna do jack shit

fix your DNS server, or connect by IP

I had that problem before... I just was a persistant bastard, and it eventually let me on.. But I don't know significant of a problem it is...

usually when i connect to irc.lcirc.net, it fails the first connect, i hit ok to the mIRC error, and it retries. on the retry it always works

if it doesn't work after the retry, try connecting by IP because the most likely problem is with DNS

if none of these methods work, check your firewall/windows firewall blocking mIRC. if you are pretty sure it should be open, then just try again in a few hours, or tomorrow. IRC is down some times due to ddos
