It always puts a smile on my face to see how mad these people get over a game.

I gotta ask one thing though. (Sorry for asking the question in here. These forums won't let me post a help thread in the proper section.) Anywho, on to the question. I've seen plenty of CS rages and CSS rages. Most of the time when those ragers use the mic feature to spam sounds, some are quite easy to make out. (I mean that they're not all garbled audio, like mine.) So, my question is, how do you manage to get the .wav audio files to play clearly using the mic spam scripts? In one of my favorite rage videos on youtube, the guy plays the song "Sea Shanty" over and over. I have that song, but it kind of defeats the purpose if all the players can hear is "Skreeeeeeeeee Chshhhhhhshshshshshshshshhs" and many other sounds I'm not sure how I would spell out. Yea, sure, just plain static can piss people off, but after seeing tons of those videos, it seems to me that an audible version of that song is far more effective. So, if someone wouldn't mind, could you tell me how through a pm on this forum, or maybe point me in the direction of a thread with this exact question. Thanks for your help in advance. (And again, if posting a question here is against the rules, just say so, I won't do it again.)

It's not you.

It the server's VOIP codec.

About half of 1.6 servers have a "speex" codec with the sound quality set to 5.

The speex codec is not avalable in source games so it will always sound pretty bad.

Hope that answered the question :)
