November 6, 200618 yr Author the xmas one used commercial software and hardware... i think he spent almost 3 grand i spent 40$ total i made the pcb board myself, used a uln2803a ic to controll the relays, i hgooked it up to my printer port, and controlled everytjhing via a c program i wrote myself... im gonna learn how to make shit for usb hopefully before xmas for a bigger dealy thing...

November 7, 200618 yr Author i built a parallel controlled relay board much like http://kitsrus.com/kits.html kit74 http://halloween.sitenation.com/site/view/article/1082566342/ca http://halloween.sitenation.com/site/view/article/1082575651/ca that makes it pretty self explainitory you write to the parallel port using 0-255 8 lights, 255 possible combos each light represents a bit so like 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 1 2 4 8 16 32 64 128 just add up the numbers for which lights u want on... for example if u want lights 1 3 6 and 8 on it would be 165 or \xA5 in hex i then used delays (sleep) in c to time everything ill make a nice tutorial with pics and shit when i do my xmas display (if i do it) for now, digg that link so others can enjoy :)
