i have been considering purchasing one of the 3 new consoles xbox360 (havent actually been considering and its old but im putting it up anyways) ps3, and wii.

 

In you're humble opinion which is better and why (we all know pc's own consoles no need to remind anyone of your 1337 p33n).

Personally for me ps3 is to expensive

wii, a little cartoony but the controllers look like they would fit in my anus nicely, also im not really into the nostalgia of games.

If you wanted to steer away from it properly, don't include a PC option. But seriously, right now, that's the best option. In about 6 months the PS3 and XBox 360 will start their console wars. That's when you should get one of those.

 

Right now, if you're really looking for a console, get the Wii. Cheaper, not directly competeing, and supposedly will have the ability to download classic games.

I don't play halo so their was never a reason for me to get a xbox and the only things that look good on 360 are GR:AW and Gears of War. Plus I just can't get used to the 360 controller, no matter how long I play my brain is just wired for the PS2 controller.

 

I might get a Wii when it's like $99 just like I did with the gamecube. But the only reason I got one was for Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes so if they make a Metal Gear Game that I don't have then I'll get one.

 

Even though my wife just bought me another computer for our anniversary I still don't play that many games on PC. I don't want to pay $600 on just one component to play a game, on top of the $1000 for the rest of the computer that will just slow down to a crawl when Microsoft finds even more creative ways to waste CPU cycles.

High End PC's will always dominate in terms of fun and gameplay...

 

But since im movin out soon (for uni).. And my PC's gettin older every day..

I got an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Dual-Core Processor (OC'd and rated at 6.0Ghz), 4GB of Ram, 350GB Sata HD.. GFX card ATi Radeon 9800Pro.

 

I mean, the GFX card it wont even run the new splinter cell. So thats fuckin gay, itll cost £500 for a good DirectX 10 card, and with that i have to buy a new mobo, another £100-£150..

 

So, im gettin a PS3 when it comes out, probably in May or somethin, see if a new model comes out or the prices come down, coz u know that the first model will have something wrong with it..

If I were you I'd get like a Geforce 7900 GT or something like that. You won't have to finance it and it will get the job done.

 

I know that I say that I don't really use PC's to play that many games but that doesn't mean that I don't like to sometimes. I'm still gonna get a better computer next year.

My friends and I already have had some damn good times playing wii sports, and thats not even a full game. Can't wait for Warioware and Marioparty ;D

 

Since ps3 and xbox360 are going primarily for better gfx, why bother getting one when you can upgrade your pc? I've said it before and I'll continue to say it until im proved wrong: ps3/xbox are now just handicapped computers that are limited only to playing games. Either upgrade your pc, get a wii, or both.

Basically, within applications that mulit-threading is enabled, the application uses the power of both cores.. which is basically 5.6Ghz..

2.7GHz x2 = 5.4Ghz + a an extra bit, i cant remember why but you just do..
