What I need to do is rip a DVD to my PC, convert it to a common media format (eg wmv, mpeg), then I want to edit to cut a funny scene out of it and save that, keeping the sound. December 13, 200618 yr ok to rip you neeed to run dvd decryptor to take off the security (ie. macrovision) on the dvd. even though you're not burning to a dvd, you still will probabaly wan tto use dvd srhink because it will make your dvd files (ie. vob, etc.) smaller so you're wmv file or avi file will be smaller. next after you shrink and save to a folder you can now shrink it inot a playable format like .avi with dr divx. (free trial or d/l). this will take awhile but ultimately you'll have one or two files that youre movie is made in depending on the compression you used and if you selected to have each file made up to only 700 mb. this will be in .avi format. now put this file into windows movie maker or adobe premiere pro and edit the scene out. next, i know you can save the file in windows movie maker that you edited to your computer as a .wmv (haven't tried with adobe yet). Now if you want to be able to convert a game to .ISO you'll need either winiso, poweriso, or even alcohol 120 which I recommend (or any iso converting program out there) to convert your game to .iso. Now everything could go smooth or they could have put a built in read error on the first cd (or dvd) in order to stop you from making copies. This is easy to fix with alcohol 120 where you jsut check a box that says to ignore read errors and the .iso will be created. Now you can mount and install but remmeber you need both a serial as well as either a fixed .exe (recommended if you don't play online as you usually have to change the .exe with every new patch released) or a no cd-dvd image which you can create yourself or download from gamecopyworld.
December 16, 200618 yr Just download Xilisoft DVD Ripper Platinum 4 and rip it to an mp4 or avi file. Then, use Adobe Premiere to cut out that one scene and save it.
