Posted December 15, 200618 yr K, well i used Partition Magic after my last format and no complaints. I have all my games on my backup drive, and my OS and other Progs that i dont care if i lose on my other. Question is: Apparently i have 3 partitions, C: which contains my OS, and progs i wouldnt care if i lost. H: (my backup) which contains all my games, movies, music etc... And a third. This 3rd partition is the one im curious about. Its called Hidden. When i made the H drive i never noticed the hidden one. Im wondering what this one is for? I keep re-sizing my H drive to hold my movies and games and i keep taking space away for the C and the Hidden. Do i need this hidden drive? Why is it there? That it pretty much, the hidden is holding about 25-30gb's so if i dont need it i want to delete it, but i looked and cant find any help. Any help from you guys?
December 15, 200618 yr What's inside the hidden partition? http://www.pcc.org/members/reviews/revpartitionmagic.htm *search for the word 'hidden' on this page* I'll bet it's your recovery partition.
December 15, 200618 yr Author Nothing as far as i can tell. It doesnt show up in My Computer. It just shows up in Partion Magic. Im still not sure why its there. Just wondering if i delete and spread it across the other 2 partitions will it effect anything in a bad way. u edited right as i was posting...Thanks for the info.
December 15, 200618 yr ...hhhmmm... without being able to see it personally, I can't really tell you if it's OK to delete. does Partition Magic tell you how much of the hidden partition is used, and how much is free?
December 15, 200618 yr Tell us your specs and everything you can about the partition, it's probably there for a reason though. eg: http://www.engadget.com/2005/08/03/hp-settles-hidden-partition-suit/ http://www.ntcompatible.com/Hidden_Partition_t31325.html
