January 3, 200718 yr Suggestion: Before using FRAPS, type "record (demoname)" (change demoname to whatever you want) (without quotations), and start recording. When you're done, type "stop", and then watch the recording using the game program, and FRAPS it then. It will lag considerably less.

January 4, 200718 yr I assume this is for CSS or CS or other $team game. In which case, record it all as a DEMO (no lagging the game) Then 1) Load up your demo. 2) Get to the spot you want to begin recording and pause. 3) in console type "startmovie <filename> avi 4) a codec box should appear. If it doesn't try alt + tabbing out and then back in and you should see it. 5) Choose desired codec. The microsoft windows media video or something is a decent choice. 6) After choosing your codec a message in console should appear saying startmovie has began and that "frames will begin when console is cleared". 7) Type demo_resume in console and remove console. 8) Once you have your clip bring down console and type endmovie.
