Posted January 8, 200718 yr I get crackling sound in my games like HL2 I have onboard sound, motherboard - ASUS P4S800-MX. I can't installed Realtek drivers, because it just restarts my computer. I can't install the SoundMax drivers from the ASUS site because when I click 'install.exe' nothing happens. I have SoundMax drivers installed, but they still give me that crackling noise.. It mostly happens in smoke and dusty places.. I've tried deleating my sound cache files and stuff, but no luck
January 8, 200718 yr Get a sound blaster live 5.1 its 29.99 and you'll never get any problems from audio again or if you have a real job, get a X-Fi Music or above
February 9, 200718 yr I had this problem too and my comp would restart itself but it was due to shitty logitech videocam audio drivers which i now just disable and or never install from startup since it likes to reinstall itself
