so i set up a wireless AP at school, well hidden underneith a teachers desk. the tech guys are not going to find it phisicaly, so i am wondering what are some precoutionary steps i should take so they cant find it on the net work.

If it can connect to the network without getting programmed, yur fine.

Just dont let them see it. Cuz itll disapear for ever.

at my university someone has set up a similar "rouge" AP, and named it the same exact thing as the actuall network. No one has noticed yet X__X
Nice dude, so do you just connect to it trought your laptop then. That'd be sweet should try that.

SSID is off. we dont have a wireless network at school. my access point isencrypted tho. i cant access the pritners or any other computers, just the internet, its odd. my acess point wants to give out addresses of 192.168.2.X and the school is bassed off of 10.2.1.X.
Disable DHCP on the AP, just let the school's DHCP server give you an address from its pool. Shit starts to fuck up when you've got more than 1 thing leasing addresses on a network.
