please let me know if anything/everything is dumb to get, im not filthy rich i cant get a 1000 dollar vid card or anything like that... i do wanna be able to play top notch games seamlessly

EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD EXCEPT FOR THE MEMORY, IT SEEMS WAY OVERPRICED TO ME. ALTHOUGH SOME PEOPLE THINK PERFORMANCE GAMING RAM IS WORTH IT, I TEND TO DISAGREE.

hmm yeah the memory is pricey, but its the bomb diggity shizzle, i was thinkin about only getting 1 gig, does anyone know if its worth getting dual channel memory? is the jump from 1-2 gigs worth it?

Nice specs except i agree with SourceX about the ram.

d0wn. You're not going to notice a difference between "Gaming RAM" and just regular RAM.

 

If anything, pitch the idea for the 2 GB of ram and get some non gaming RAM and get 4 GB of it.

 

When I'm playing CSS, it takes up 98% of my 1GB and leaves a lot to be desired, with 4GB I'm sure it'd use all of it while gaming and it would run a hell of a lot smoother.

 

EDIT: You can also buy a cheaper video card and re-flash the BIOS so you can save yourself some money and put it towards a cooling system.

I would avoid buying anything from tigerdirect after reading all the complaints people have had with them.

you're dumb, 4gb is absolutely a waste of money. 2GB is best for the money.

Also I'd advice you to take 800Mhz (Cl-6400) any lower...kinda sucks) as for the GPU...well everyone his/her own choise.

i agree on the ram btw, 2 gigs will be great for your computer, i really doubt the difference in the gaming ram

I don't know what 'gaming RAM' is but as long as it is CL-4-4-4-4-15 or lower then you're absolutely fine, any higher and...well no it's just a matter of a few % in CL, but be sure to have 6400 or higher, any lower will noticably change performance.

Get DDR2 800 Ram

 

Don't get the barebone kit. Ultra is shit. Especially the PSU that comes with it.

i wouldnt get the barebones kit because not a fan of the mobo, don't know if you want to go SLi ever, but it is good to at least have the option at a later date, plus you can probably get a better set up for the same price

 

btw here is the same video card, cheaper (I did the money conversion, actually 30 bucks cheaper with rebate) plus the clock speeds on XFX cards are generally faster than stock

i have a buddy that works a graphic design place that edits 8 foot posters on his mac desktop, he has 16 gigs of ram ( and no im not kidding, its an option on their site ), gaming and such will not need over 2 gigs atleast for another 2 years or so with the introduction of direct x 10 coming near

Newegg is cheaper like everyone says but they dont ship to Canada do they?

 

Only thing i looked at was the case, i have one and its nice, shiny and big but a little flimsy. Especially the door.

You know just because we all use our computers for different things and we all have different requirements doesn't mean that I don't know how it works.

EDIT, i was under the impression that he was just gaming, thus the need for only 2 gigs of ram

if you are going to buy a dx9 vid card there isnt any reason to buy an expensive one. i would either wait a while after dx10 cards have been out or buy a cheaper card. the only reason to buy an expensive vid card is so that you can run all the games out right now and all the games that are to come out. but with dx10 coming you wont be able to run them with that card. cheaper cards will be able to run the games out now so gg.
