I can't get sleep so ... going to write this really simple..

Religion vs. Evolution (Rationalism vs. Empiricism)

This is really a matter of mythology vs. factual knowledge. All religions are based upon myths not facts. That being said religions can of course contain some truth but their not factually accurate by any means. Myths need an explanation ( belief ) while science on the other hand is explanation itself. Myths is really just old traditions, they're based on what has been passed on from older generations. They're not based on experience as science is. The core of this is that all knowledge is dependent upon some kind of experience.

There is no knowledge about god, not as a supreme-being, not as a creator nor as a Christian god. Therefor only place god exists is in an abstract illusion in your head based upon traditions, myths and human imagination. Ones knowledge of god is faith of belief which equals not-knowing as it's based upon non-empirical information. Someone may argue that someone else experienced god in an ancient story but that is tradition, not experience. There is no foundation for religion.

It's though important to know that this doesn't rule out the possibility of there being a god of some kind but it efficiently declares evolution as winner in this case.
