My car's a 97 Saturn SC2 with a blown up auto transmission. Getting repaired now because I need a ride to school. Trust me, it ain't fast, but I do run the car as hard as I can.

Can't wait to get out of college to get a real job and a real car.

PS. DOM: Nice looking 'Stang, but FFS change the interior... That is just disgusting.

sorry I can't drive a bike, but I steer an airplane!
Mine... some people seem to be confused about 'rice' just because its Japanese doesnt mean its rice. Ricers have huge bodykits and stupid big wheels.

Yea sadly only 220hp but the TT is 300. I plan on swaping it towards the end of the summer. A front clip is only 2900.

I have a 1994 Ford Thunderbird 4.6L v8. I'm getting rid of it soon cuz its seen its better days.. I have been driving it for 5 years though (Was my first car) and its never broke down on me and been a very reliable car even though I abused the hell out of it. Since I need a new vehicle anyway and I work for general motors now, I am going to buy a general motors product.. This to be exact, but probably in black or blue... And after always owning a rear wheel drive, I could never buy a front wheel drive... It's gotta be rear or rear with part time 4 wheel drive for hazardous conditions. In good weather conditions, the handling is so much smoother when the power and steering are on seperate wheels. The cops know this, why do you think they drive rear wheel drive crown vics? (Although my suv is gonna have engageable 4 wheel drive, because rear wheel drive without optional 4 wheel or traction control is awful in the snow.)

I also drove a chevrolet silverado quite a bit since I started driving.. And I have decided that my next vehicle will definately be a truck or suv. My car is nice and fast, but trucks have their perks.. You don't get blinded by oncoming traffic at night in a truck, and if another truck is behind you at night, you don't get blinded by looking at any of your 3 mirrors. And also, I have a lot of experience driving both a full sized truck and a car, I have noticed that you get cut off 10 times as much in a car than you do in a truck. By that I mean people zipping into your lane with little clearance so you have to brake to avoid hitting them, or turning out in front of you forcing you to slow down or hit them. Even though anybody in their right mind doesn't want a car accident, I think its the subconcious saying if its a car go because if I get hit ill be fine or minorly injured... Whereas the truck, you get hit by that and they will have to clean you up with a spatula. Plus I love to go on road trips, and I hate being cramped in a car for long drives.

Below is for americans only.

And what's up with all the jap crap.. If theres an american car trying to merge onto the freeway or getting into my lane, i'll usually let them go unless they are doing something to be an asshole.. if its a jap car, your not merging in front of me, you can either wait and fall in behind me, or keep going as you are and we will ram each other and see who wins or act like your going to be a badass and then realize you have no chance of surviving running into me and swerve into the guard rail. And the best part of it would be none of it is my fault since I had the right away and you were the one merging. I just don't understand the fascination with buying jap cars when you could be supporting your family, friends, and neighbors who work for american car companies. (And before you say they build some hondas and toyotas here LOL.. well that might be true but its still a foreign company and the majority of their profits go overseas. I get paid 21 dollars an hour working at GM, so its GM for me all the way.

And before you say American cars are overpriced, low quality, and shitty. I suggest you get with the times.. This was undeniably the case from the 80's to the mid 90's but I suggest you do some more current research. GM is number 1 in quality compared to their competitors in most classes. The only thing they still have to work on is fuel efficiency.. Because until a couple years ago when gas prices skyrocketed, no one gave a shit about fuel economy... Everyone wanted the biggest fastest gas guzzler they could buy... But the fuel economy gap is closing fast and they are catching up, although its still an aspect that the **** win but not for much longer.

Honestly though Millertime, Japanese cars are really popular because not only are they cheap to buy but they're also really easy to maintain. My father's mustang has broken down twice in the 8 months we've had it, and its been recalled once before for a replacement on the sway bar. My Honda CRX hasn't had ONE issue the whole 16 years its been around. Sure, you say that fuel economy plays a part in this, but if you really think about it, fuel economy plays a BIG part in cars that people buy now days. With oil companies jacking up prices slowly (Has been going up ever since Bush got re-elected... Hmmmm) its really worth it to go out and buy a used japanese car, or even a used one for under $15000.

About the whole merging thing: You can't tell me that there aren't idiots who drive American cars on the freeway. I can't even count the amounts of times that I've almost been broadsided by some ignorant people in their HUGE ass SUV's talking on their cell phones and trying to handle their kids all at once, not to mention that they've lifted their SUV about 4 feet and get about 5 MPG.

Bottom line: Most American DRIVERS are just stupid and ignorant as to whats around them. You're one of them. If you can't accept the fact that a car is going to be merging into your lane in front of you and you don't want to let them JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT DRIVING AN AMERICAN CAR then you're just another stupid American. Go back to your USA fanboy club.

EDIT: According to that JD Power website, Honda AND Toyota are evenly matched against your GMCs http://www.jdpower.com/autos/brand-ratings/ So, next time you go off shooting your mouth, make sure you're not insulting something that's better than what you're standing up for.

I didn't say that there are no idiots that drive American cars did I? What I was trying to point out is that the incentives for buying japanese are getting slimmer. Prices on American cars are coming down, new GM products come with 100,000 mile warranties, quality and fuel economy are getting better. I don't expect you to understand American pride or reasons people should buy stuff thats made in the USA, because you are from California. Here in the midwest, 80% of cars on the road are still American. You wanna talk about recalls??? With todays standards (mostly safety ones), almost every vehicle of every make and model (foreign and American) will experience a recall somewhere down the road. But toyota wins the largest recall in history about a year and a half ago.. 750,000 vehicles recalled at once.

The reason gm shows near equal in ratings as honda OVERALL (and its part of gm's problem) is that they have way too many makes and models. So, since honda only makes about 10 different models or so, they put all their energy into just those products. And since like about 70 or so different makes and models are manufactured under the GM name. They make some of the best as well as some of the worst, which hurts their overall image. But the fact of the matter is that GM still won the spot of number 1 car and truck of the year for the year. And I get sick of hearing about people saying ill never buy an american car again because my buddy or his buddy's buddy had one and it kept breaking down. I heard a story like this once and it turns out that the guy hadn't changed the oil in like 10,000 miles, and totally neglected the car.. No shit its gonna break down when you go so long without changing the oil and the pH of his oil is probably similar to hydrochloric acid. Every company has a lemon here and there.... but it seems the American cars are highly underrated and get the most attention of a lemon because it seems like the cool thing to do these days when most of them haven't drove a car thats newer than 5 years old.

It almost seems like its the cool thing to do nowadays to run American industry out of business or overseas. Anyone with American pride or stresses the importance of buying American products when possible is considered a redneck. Well, if thats the world you want, then thats the way its heading. People are getting masters degrees for jobs that can be done with an associates degree or even a high school diploma because the competition is so great that the only way to get a good job is to over qualify yourself 10 fold. Although the future of the american auto industry and my job is shaky, I feel very lucky to be making a good living and only having an associates degree for the time being. Although you wouldn't understand any of this because I googled your town: Pleasanton is a city in Alameda County, California and was incorporated in 1894. According to the city's website, the city has a total population of 67,724. In 2005, Pleasanton was ranked the wealthiest middle-sized city in the United States by the Census Bureau. You don't know shit and never will about the blue collar work force that has to bust their ass for a living. And also explains why your dads mustang probably broke down.. Rich people don't know shit about taking care of automobiles... I'm sure any maintenance at all no matter how simple is too much for your tea sippin family's ass.

The only thing thats keeping the American car industry afloat is muppets like you who buy that crap to support your country. However, if people stopped spending their money on slow, shoddy six litre trucks that get 10mpg and handle like a bouncy castle, it would force GM to pull their finger out and produce a decent, fuel efficient car that has more up its sleeve than traveling in a stright line for a hundreds of miles then breaking down. Ultimately improving the market.

c0balt2, your bike looks like an alien species here to kill us all.

You stereotype me, I stereotype you.

First off, you didn't say that there aren't idiots driving American cars, I'll admit to making that mistake, but what you're implying is that you're not going to let a Japanese car pull in front of you on the highway... Thats just plain ignorance. You have NO respect for anyone on the road if you're not going to allow a car in front of you because of their make and model.

Another thing, just because I live in a rich town doesn't mean that I get things given to me like I'm some rich spoiled brat. I work three jobs to keep my car, my cell phone, and eventually pay for my own college education. My parents have also worked hard to be able to live in this town, trust me, for the minority of us (Yes, the majority of Pleasanton Dwellers are just rich son-of-a-bitches) it is REALLY hard to live in this town. My mother teaches at the local high school, and my father works out of the country a lot so that we can have enough money to pay the bills, so don't tell me what I am because you don't know us.

Also, so what if GMC offers 100,000 mile warranties on their cars, the fact of the matter is that they STILL break down, they're still top-heavy flipping easy, they still have space above the back of the seats for a gun rack(There's me stereotyping you. :gaykeke: ). Another thing, I will admit to though, my father knows jack shit about cars. He only knows what looks good on cars and not what makes them operational, but his car has still broken down twice even with proper care.
