Followed the tut. of Hlss.us and the youtube vid... but it's still fucked. Lowered the bass and that shit... So can some1 post the right settings for good quality hlss sounds??
February 7, 200718 yr Problem is serverside. If you're playing 1.6, search around the forums for some help on that. If you're playing CSS, then forget about it. The codecs required for good HLSS sound haven't been updated for the Source engine.
February 7, 200718 yr Sometimes you can't do much about bad quality. Reducing/Increasing the volume, bass, or mid does the trick sometimes. But for the most part, it's server side. The commands are: sv_voicecodec voice_speex sv_voicequality 5 I think it's 1.6 only by the way.
February 7, 200718 yr Author Okay it's for 1.6 I set the quality 5 and speex but still crappy.. Sometimes you can't make up what kind of song it is.... If you watched the tutorial @ youtube you can hear that his sounds is fuckin clear...
February 7, 200718 yr Sometimes you can't do much about bad quality... Let me see the file. If it's bad with speex and voice quality 5 it's one of two things. A) You messed up converting it or B) Or you didn't enter the commands properly. Or secret option C) The song is just that bad for the mic. (Did you put in those commands on someone else's server? Those are server commands, just for clarity's sake.) EDIT: Also, I did watch the video (Which is kind of pointless, actually) and the answer is simple, but kind of stupid. Some songs just work better than others with the default voice quality/codec. Sorry.

February 8, 200718 yr Ok, now I know you aren't entering the commands in properly. I tried listening to that in normal sound quality, sounds shitty like every other song, but you can make it out. I also tried listening to it in good sound quality, crystal clear. You need RCON to be able to use those commands I gave you, by the way. EDIT: Forgot another commands that helps, this is a command you can enter anywhere. voice_fadeouttime 0
February 8, 200718 yr try using only 1s with not much bass and music when u use voice there clear but the music sounds bad so i just use voices there just as good u will be lucky to find a server where u can hear them perfectly

My friend says you have to be fucking with me, but whatever. No, RCON is short for Remote Console. It allows admins and the like to control the server (A CS server in this case) from their home computer. So, unless you're admin with RCON privileges or something like that, you can't just put in sv_ commands when in someone else's server, it just won't work. You're best bet for good voice quality is to ask the admin to change it, or find a new server. On a side note, what exactly do you mean by an 'HLSS Pack'? Do you mean like, short little quotes of C-Note or just the whole movie of him?
