February 10, 200718 yr All 4. As long as you listen to them it should be fine (don't smoke, sue straws ect.) I was so nervous before getting it done, but it's nothing. Especially if you are being put under for it. It literaly feels like you blinked, and it was over. The only part that sucks is being hungry and not being able to eat. Because you are put under you cannot drink or eat anythign before hand (so you dont drown if you puke while unconcious). I just had my brother stop by on the way home @ Jack in the Box and bought a shake (make sure you use spoon, not straw). You won't be able to chew any solid foods very well that day, and you'll have to chew very small amount and be carful for a few days so you don't bust the stiches. Your face will be swollen and a little painful, but they should give you 500mg vicodin, so that helps.
February 10, 200718 yr Author yeah i had all 4 done today, Been staying with shakes and no smoking and no straws, Tried to eat honey buffalo bonless wings so i cut them down into really really small pieces so i could just swallow them lol, Um how long does it usually take to where i can smoke again and not worry about getting a dry socket?
February 10, 200718 yr I'd wait atleast 2 days. That will give the wounds time to atleast start to close up and heal. To be safe I wouldn't smoke for 3 days. Then when you do smoke, be very careful. I didn't get one, but my mother did, and she compared the pain to childbirth.

February 10, 200718 yr I'm a freak. I had 8 Wisdom teeth. 1 in my top right, 1 in my top left, 1 in my bottom left, and 5 in my bottom right. They were really small ones, and they would've caused me a hell of a lot of trouble if they hadn't been taken out. The doctor said he'd actually never seen that many teeth in one mouth, or in the same place in his entire career. So, in short, my mouth swelled up like a bitch. Thankfully, I had my girlfriend come over and play nurse and everything was fine. :facesj: Edit: Do NOT place the gauze in your mouth when you sleep... you'll choke on it. What you just need to do is take the vicodin and go to sleep. ALSO: Keep ice on your face as long as possible, even while you're sleeping to prevent the swelling. I put ice on my face from the time I got home until about 48 hours later and I had almost no swelling. For that to work though, you have to have had the ice on from the beginning, might be a little too late for that now, huh?

I slept for like 14 hours and ruined one of the sofa cushions w/ blood :( So if you're still bleeding when you sleep put some paper towels around your face, or some thing.. I wouldn't recommend the gauze when u sleep.. Tom that's insane, 8 wisdom teeth that had to be a bitch.

It wasn't 8 full size though, there were 4 full size and the extra 4 were about.. 1/2 size (They weren't developed all the way yet, but they would've been if they stayed in there)

February 10, 200718 yr Had mine pulled last Thursday. Got put to sleep because it was the better and less stressful option, at least to me. Sucked not eating steak and all the good food for 4 days. It only really hurt about 4 hours after the operation so I just took vicodin and went to sleep for 13 hours and was pretty much fine after that. Just couldn't eat really so it was just soup, yogurt, and some raveoli's. I'm not sure of you Tom but I slept with the gauzes on. Kind of soaked all of the blood instead of having all the blood go down my throat. Went through about 6 gauzes and the bleeding was pretty much done.

They kick in fast too and last long, so you'll get a solid block of sleep. Also as to hydrocodone being weak, I don't think so. If you're not a daily opiate user 4-5 5/500 vicodin will get you feeling pretty damn good. Of course it's not nearly as good as oxycodone (sorting these btw-is wonderfull), hydromorphone, etc...
February 10, 200718 yr i got mine out around xmas. 23rd.. I've always been good w/ injury and such but the 2nd day was like hell. Percocet (sp) was awesome. I swore i was an astronaut.

February 10, 200718 yr ouch. They put me out and forgot the xray at the other office. They woke me up had me take another xray and then put me out again. The last words i remember from the doctor were "Dude you are about to be stoned out of your mind you won't feel a fucking thing." this from a dentist who had his license removed before for gassing himself at night. gave me plenty of percocet
