Hey.

I just reformatted today, i have vista on disk but im still in concern wether to install it or not. Reason being; i can't find these things for it:

# Anti Virus software (Other than free trails that are 30 days)

# Graphic Drivers

Also im woundering about these things:

# Does steam work? (Also the games involved, see graphic drivers)

As well, does it take 40gig of harddrive?

Stick with XP, you'll get tired of Vista fast, only because you can barely run anything on Vista.
Nah it doesn't take 40 gig at all. 20 max. My friends home premium is at 12 gig.
from what ive heard, it really hard to install especially if you dont have the graphic drivers beforehand
The operating system itself is nice, but the compatibilty sucks, 3rd party companies like Nvidia need to get off there fucking ass so I can acctualy get the performance when I play my games.

in case you haven't noticed, Vista sucks my balls so hard it's starting to hurt.

+ it drops the framerate of games compared to XP (you can find that over here

)

So the only reason to install Vista is by being a complete idiot, or being a fashion designer who likes the pritty colurs and the bullshitty 3-D shit.

Steam works fine.

As did everything else i've tried.

So far I havn't found one program that doesn't work on Vista that I used with XP.

I use FF, PS CS2, Steam ect.

All run fine.

Vista owns. Does everything XP can do just as good/fast if not better, plus is way cooler.

Just make sure you get all of your drivers on a DVD before you install.

Same here, I don't know anything about computers and I havn't had any problems.

Uhh... look up about 3 posts, i already did.

my old nvidia card didnt work, had to buy a DX10 vista compatible card

my games didnt work, right click > run as admin = fixed

everything works fine now but the auto install for DRIVERS is anoying as fuck

well i suppose if i can get it to get on the net then i can fix most of my problems i will come across im gonna probably get it next month

true..my friend used to be able to max out WoW but now he has to get 2gigs or RAM after he installed vista..that thing is a fricking memory eater.

Well my laptop clearly states: Designed for windows XP... Vista compatible...

Ill leave it doing what its designed for i think :naughty:

Vista seems really over rated to be honest... i think ill wait a good while before upgrading...
