Posted March 21, 200718 yr Quick frist impression, in case anyone wanted an opinion on this game, before buying it or getting it in some other manner, since there have been so few new PC games in recent months. I just started playing this tonight, probably got an hour into it with 2 missions completed. Game feels kind of like a cross between Halflife 2 and Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. It's a slightly in the future world which is screwed up like Halflife 2, but with a RPG and open ended game like Oblivion. Game has a basic storyline you follow with objectives/missions guiding you along. You can also get side missions from various people in the game, you complete them and get rewarded. So far game has your basic weapons, handgun, shotgun, gernades, med kits, and other crap. Got most of this stuff from people I have killed in the game. The graphics are decent, nothing ground breaking though. When I first loaded the game, I had it in 1024x768 Mid level graphics setting and the second I stepped outside in the game, I was getting like 1 FPS. So I tired cranking down the graphics and even the resolution and this had no impact at all. Finally I set the dynamic lighting to standard and then it ran pretty damn good, even at a decent resolution with the graphics turned up. I really get the impression if you liked Oblivion, then you will like this game, as it feels much like it, cept with guns.
March 21, 200718 yr wow i had no idea they changed the release date back to the 20th from the 23rd until i saw your thread and checked gamespot.. ive been waiting for this game to release for awhile but nobody here has it in Lexington, Ky yet. ive checked bestbuy/circuit city/gamestop/eb games and even fucking toys r us and it doesnt look like walmarts here atleast will be carrying this game any time soon.

So basically im 200metres away from good internet.. Im at college here atm, i could download it here in less than an hour but my college is a wanker when it comes to downloading things

March 21, 200718 yr this would of been an epic game if they hadnt of took out loads of good features towards the end so they could release it quicker, e.g not being able to drive cars now, anyway thanks for the small review - 45.9% 29kbs|49kbs same problems as diesel :/

March 21, 200718 yr I too am playing this and thought (oblivion - level up system) + SOF2 = STALKER. I am about 10 hours into it, and suffering constant crashing. I will have to crank down the dynamic lighting. I can't even do console-based game saves. The game seems rushed and will need some serious patching. The beginning is rough because the weapons truly suck and dying is very easy. If you stick with it, there are better suits of armor and much better weapons. I am enjoying this much more than oblivion because shooting shit is more fun than swinging a sword for hours. The artifacts are getting good too. Don't get me wrong, I agree with OMP that it is a decent game. I am also a whore for shooters. I will mess with settings more when I get home, see if I can fix the issues.
