Realism in terms of the way that things happen around you. This includes: Realistic Physics AI doing thier own thing The police not knowning you shot someone in an ally as soon as you do it Cars handling realism Blood stains on walls Basically it revolves around the engine they use and the AI. When i say realism im not talking about your actions, i mean physical realism, weight of cars etc. Like when you get hit by a truck in any of the 3d GTA's you just fly off and land and get up. IRL, youd be fucked under the truck, or sent into the pavement.
