Posted April 2, 200718 yr my friend called today and said cops are outside his door and that they were going through the trunk of his car and shit. It's going on as i type this actually. I was wondering do they actually catch shoplifters by camera if the shoplifter has no past record at all? I know they can check you out while your doing it sometimes but like he stole last week and they are just getting to him. I have never known anyone to get caught like a week down the road for shoplifting unless they had a record. He stole 2 computer games or something like that idk but hes dumb. i asked him if there were cameras in the parking lot and he said no bc it was an older wal-mart. sucks for him bc hes going to fullsail which is like 3k a semester or something like that and if you miss a certain amount of days your kicked from the program. I think he could only miss like 1-2 more days bc of his absences. anyway i was just curious bc like i had said i've never heard of them finding ppl later who didnt have a record.

AND you wouldnt get 5 years for a misdemeanor (especially if it was your first offense) unless your lawyer was shit. Anyway, I have no idea if they had been compiling a casee against him or not. I guess that would justify the 4-5 cops and the trunk search but I have no clue. He hasn't called me back so I'm guessing they arrested him by now. He was freaking out so badly because they were just standing there outside his apt. door for like 1-2 hrs. He broke all of his glass pipes/bongs and shit and flushed his weed - he broke a 300$ roor he had bought in Amsterdam (lol). Anyways I was just wondering, I didn't think about the police having more shit on him already. That could probably explain a lot.

That could probably explain a lot. sounds to me more like someone probably reported him for selling drugs or something. the police wouldn't give two fucks about a game being stolen, only if he was caught by the security guards, and only then would probably just get banned from the shop.
April 2, 200718 yr Author He doesn't sell drugs/ or hasn't since he's moved to FLA because he doesn't know anyone really. You are right though, why would anyone give a fuck about video games? I'm guessing he has either stolen more shit then he said he did or hes friend that works at walmart got caught stealing and ratted him or something. It doesnt make sense..the whole scenario, really. If it were drugs they would need actually proof that he either bought or sold them, and if he did they wouldnt have waited a few days to bust him they would have busted him there at the spot. And they wouldnt have waited around his apt. for a hour, they would have just opened up. The whole thing is weird because it;s kinda random. The only thing he could think of is those shitty ass video games that he stole, but I asked him if he seriously thought they would send 5 cops for a 100$ theft. *even if he did stash the games they obviously had him on camera stealing them in the first place or they wouldnt even have bothered with it. So if he did stash the games he was still caught.
April 2, 200718 yr well he must've been caught stealing the games and they probably got his plates and ran them OR they mighta had a mixup of similar car descriptions and they're just fuckin with him. stealing <$200 = misdemeanor he'll get a fine or community service tops though he shoulda told the cops to fuck off n come back with a warrant because they cant search without permission unless certain circumstances which dont exist in this scenario. basically hes gonna get burnt for probably twice the price of what the games were

April 3, 200718 yr For some reason, this story sounds awful fishy. Cops are not going to come searching at a guy's house for two stolen computer games. Either something bigger is going down, or you're telling a pretty shitty April Fools joke. Besides, any type of law enforcement agency has to obtain a search warrant before entering a suspected "hot zone." Otherwise, any evidence obtained is considered unusable. Sounds to me though like an April Fools prank.

April 3, 200718 yr Author Yeah, we were on the phone when he told me that 2 left from his door and went to his car and proceeded to open the trunk. I told him they needed a search warrant but he didn't want to say anything (could be hes a pussy or he felt intimidated by the 4-5 cops around). Anyway I told him the reason why they hadnt just knocked down his door was because they didnt have the proper warrants and shit. I'm still puzzled by the 4-5 cops, my friend has no prior offenses or anything. Also cops can do basically whatever the hell they want too, warrant or not. THEY ARE THE MAN! Unless you have witnesses and/or a video camera to catch them doing something unlawful then its your word against theirs which basically means shit to a judge or jury. If the cops want to arrest you for DUI while you're asleep in your bed then they more than likely can.
