1990 Honda Accord DX (im pretty sure its DX) Manual trans.

215000 Miles on the car itself and rebuilt engine probably around 40000 or less.

 

Driving it the other day and i go to shift to 2nd and the clutch goes straight to the floor. No 'pressure' on the clutch until i get to about 4 inches from the floor.

 

Car wont shift to any gears, its stuck in neutral. But i can still start it. So, any ideas? I didnt see any fluid leaking, but i didnt check really well and i cant really pump the clutch to get pressure built up, so whatcha think?

 

Master, Slave, or whole new clutch kit?

 

Ive got it at a shop now and they're going to look at it tomorrow, i wanted to do it myself but cant really take the trans out to replace the gears.

for a 1990, I'm gonna throw a guess and say it's a cable clutch...

 

a hydraulic clutch, i would think, is too fancy for a 1990 honda.

Ok how bought you finish High school, pay off my bills, and then buy me a REAL car.

 

If i could afford a fucken Mustang, Corvette, Trans Am, Monte, or anything with some muscle i would but i have bills and cant afford it.

LOL @ the sig thing.

 

Ill take a Honda (any year) over anything made by that shitty company.

And mine isnt a POS, rebuilt engine is good. I swear you drive it and you'll think its a 6 cylinder instead of a 4. (Which sounds stupid except for ppl who have driven both) Body only has 3 dents. About 400 bucks not counting the clutch and this car will last for well over 3 or 4 years. If not more.

While i am that guys garage im going to ask about the master and clutch and see if they should be replaced, and also get the Trans filter replaced. Since i have no idea what has been fixed and/or replaced on this car.

 

 

The master and slave i could probably do myself but im sure i need a new clutch kit since its probably still factory. Or if it isnt hasnt been looked at for 6 or 7 years so its time for it to get replaced.

 

I looked forever on full instructions on how to do all this but couldnt find anyhting on Google. Im just gonna buy a Haynes manual go by it.

 

 

Ill be at the shop later and im hoping its just a Master or Slave so i do the kit later and hopefully borrow someones shop and save on labor.

 

Oh yeah post above i refilled the clutch fluid, with brake fluid....even tho im not happy with using no-name dot 3 fluid but fluids are on max all around.

Perhaps the car ran out of gas? Try filling your car up with gas at the nearest gas station. If that doesn't work, then check your tire pressure. Also check and make sure that no one stole your engine or steering wheel. I do not know much about cars so these methods may not work.
