Just a quick question, how do I make it so I can connect to irc.whatever.com instead of the server IP? I've tried creating a subdomain on my site and making the shell IP direct to that subdomain, but no luck so any help would be appreciated, thanks.

LOL AN IRC SERVER TO HOST BOTS.

You need to set up a DNS, many forums will be able to help you with it, and sadly myg0t isn't one of them.

add an address record with the following to your bind server:

-your domain name (without host)

-default

-address: ip address of the server

when you have done this every unknow host will be forwarded to your

server ip. e.g. hostblabla.mydomain.com

so irc.mydomain.com:6667 will be forwarded to your server ip port 6667

this may not be the best way but it works:boink:

or even better you can add a name alias with host "irc" to your bind server that forwards to the right ip and port

if you have any questions pm me
